The Shaman Class

Shaman commune with the spirits of the long forgotten heroes of Telon. Over time such communion leads Shamans of sufficient power to form unique relationships with the more benevolent spirits who aid the Shaman in combat, providing them with the power of life and death.

Patron Saints

All shaman can choose one patron spirit. These spirits are:

  1. Tuurgin the Bear : Tuurgin grants his devotees strength and toughness.
  2. Rakurr the Wolf : Rakurr grants his devotees cunning and speed.
  3. Hayatet the Phoenix : Hayatet grants her devotees insight and the fury of flames.

 

Totemic Gifts

Each of these patrons grants their shaman special powers, called Totemic Gifts. These gifts allow them to do astounding things. Shamans can transform into the image of their patron, gaining a variety of benefits. Shaman who choose not to transform can call upon their patron to assist them. This assistance takes the form of a servant sent by their patron. These attendants faithfully serve the shaman until dismissed.

Some sample abilities are:

  1. Frenzy
    This totemic gift allows the shaman to fly into a rage, increasing your damage, increasing your mitigation and giving your melee attacks a chance to strike twice.
  2. Deafening Roar
    This totemic gift allows you to emit a deafening roar that causes instant damage to your target, lowering their damage by half for the next two attacks.
  3. Fleet of Foot
    This totemic gift grants increased agility, dexterity and avoidance. It also increases the speed at which melee attacks are executed.
  4. Inner Sight
    This totemic gift expands the minds of all affected, greatly increasing maximum mana and mana regeneration. This spell also increases the speed at which spells are cast.
  5. Spirit Burst
    Summons a host of friendly spirits to tend the shaman and his allies. Any enemies in the radius are attacked by the spirits.

 

Spirit Bonds

Spirits that are hostile to the shaman exist in the world as well. Shaman with the training can form short term bonds with these spirits. The strength of the bond is determined by the level of experience the shaman has with the spirit.

Bonds can be form with:

  1. Krigus the Fly : spirit of rot and disease
  2. Shamadiz the Vulture : spirit of carnage and war
  3. Nag-Suul : Spirit of poison

Bonds with these spirits are taxing on the player and can only be sustained for a short period.
