The Paladin Class

Servants of Athuloria, Paladins are defenders of righteous. Dedicated to upholding the virtues of this goddess of law, judgment and punishment, Paladins believe that judgment of the wicked as their divine right. Paladins channel Virtue (divine essence) to deliver special attacks, heal and even raise dead comrades.

Paladins are heavy protective fighters preferring to be at the forefront of battle confronting evil face to face, bolstering fellow combatants and delivering the judgement of the gods upon the wicked.

Gifts of Virtue

Paladins are granted the right to perform tremendous acts of valor and strength in the name of their goddess. These abilities are called Gifts of Virtue. Gifts of virtue require the use of virtue points, so the amount that these abilities can be used is limited. Example Gifts of Virtue:

  1. Paragon of Justice
    Greatly increases damage and all combat related stats.
  2. Sunburst
    Deals heavy damage to all nearby undead.
  3. Shining Beacon
    Causes all nearby opponents to target you.

 

Auras

Paladins can surrounds themselves with various auras that can affect them and those allies close to the in different ways. Only one aura can be active at once.

  1. Aura of divine empowerment
    Increases the damage for the entire group
  2. Aura of Replenishment
    Increases the health and energy regeneration for the entire group.
  3. Aura of Radiance
    Protects the paladin from the effects of many undead attacks and scorches any nearby undead. A small measure of the protection is granted to his group mates.

 

Judgments

The ability to mete out punishment on the wicked is an essential power of the Paladin. Only one judgment can be applied to a single target. The punishments match the crimes and each judgment if tied to a specific transgression.

  1. Judgment of the Bloodthirsty
    The punishment mete out to the needlessly violent. Causes your opponent to take damage every time they attack.
  2. Judgment of the Impure
    The punishment mete out to the impure. Your target takes damage over time as they are purified by fire.

 

Power over undead

Purifying the world of that which is unclean is the paramount mission the paladin. Nothing is more impure and vile than the living dead. Many of the paladin’s abilities are built for destroying and purifying the undead of the world.

 

Special Abilities

Paladins are provided many abilities that aid them in their mission.

  1. War Cry’s
    Allow the paladin to inspire and empower his allies in different ways.
  2. Healing Touch
    allows the paladin to heal a wounded ally.
