A basic guide to Bard Songwriting in Vanguard SOH
Over time Bards collect a number of unique song elements, which they use to compose into various unique songs. Songs may be played as they are needed, or written into their songbook and reused at the appropriate times.

Melodies (F1 in above images)
The backbone of each song, a melody is a required element and sets the general tone of the song.Embellishments & Lyrics (F2 & F3 in above images)
This is where Bards begin to add unique elements to the base melody, producing uniquely powerful songs. There are a number of different ways to embellish a song, and these elements may be combined (depending on the number of available slots) to produce combined effects.Rests (F4 in above images)
These elements are useful in reducing the overall energy cost of a song. Each rest has a negative 'energy per second' cost.
Naming your Song
The Composer panel allows you to assign a name to your song, as well as a small description (so other players know what benefits the song is producing).Assigning Song Elements
Song elements can be added to the song compilation by opening the appropriate panel (see G in the above images) and dragging one of the available elements into the appropriate slots (see F1, F2, F3 in the images above)
Building a Bard 'Song Macro'
Writing a Bard song macro is extremely simple. Simply right-click any empty ability slot in your UI, name the macro, and type the following syntax into the macro field. Simply replace My Song Title with the titles of your songs./playsong "My Song Title"
